Truckee River Fly Fishing

With the snow pack at over 111% in thew sierras there should be some very good fly fishing on the Truckee river this season. Cold water temps mean you need to put the fly in front of the fish. With cold water temps, trout do not like to move far to chase your fly.

There is an abundance of fish and size of the fish the Truckee river is looking really good after 4 years of drought. Big fish tend to eat every day compared to small fish, so get out there and fish!

There are a few spots that I like to fish, Verdi, Idielwild park, Fisherman park, and Spice Island park. Share your story and let everyone know where your best fishing spot is on the Truckee river or the lakes in our area.

Thanks for reading.
